Project Manager (m/f/n)
The organization of IT Development is undergoing a significant change regarding the way how the work is conducted. The transformation from a waterfall-oriented approach towards an agile approach is significant and has implications in a variety of different fields.
To be able to drive this transformation, our BI internal staff has to undergo a specific development path. As the knowledge to establish this development path is still very limited within BI, an agile coach shall actively consult our colleagues on this journey. Therefore, the contractor has a unique position and provides significantly different services than the internal staff.
The contractor used by us has extensive experience as Scrum Master coach, agile project manager coach, Scrum Master and agile facilitator to navigate through highly complex uncertain environments.
The projects where this consultancy shall be conducted are the following:
- Scrum Master for DevOps team "HAL" (January to April 2022)
- Organize and moderate the Scrum events according to the Scrum Guide and the personal experience
- Daily standups, 15 mins, 3 times per week
During the daily standup, all team members exchange on their progress towards the sprint goals, raise blockers and adapt the course of action if necessary to achieve sprint goals. - Biweeky Sprint Review, on average 60 mins, with all stakeholders. During the sprint review, the team inspects the product increment developed during the sprint and the findings generates as a result of the research, if necessary. Team also presents to the stakeholders an overview of the work done during the sprint, and answers their questions.
- Biweekly Sprint Retrospective, on average 2 hours. All team members discuss how the previous sprint went, what challenges occurred and actions for the next sprint are defined to ensure continuous improvements of the teams processes.
- Biweekly Sprint Planning, 2 hours. The Product Owner and the Development Team define what will be the tasks for the next sprint, based on the availability, priorities and users feedback.
- Daily standups, 15 mins, 3 times per week
- Assess the current maturity of the Scrum team
- Identify areas of improvement to optimize the collaboration in the Scrum team by considering the Scrum Guide, personal experiences as well as the Boehringer specifics
- Define possible approaches of how to improve the team collaboration and user-centricity
- Consult the Product Owner and the IT Product Manager with regards to decide which approaches shall be implemented and implement them

- Scrum Master for project team "Signant Health" (March to June 2022)
- Organize and moderate the Scrum events according to the Scrum Guide and the personal experience
- Daily standups, 15 mins, 3 times per week

- Consult the new Scrum Master of the DevOps team during the onboarding phase with regards to Scrum guide on how to lead an agile team
- Assess the maturity of the Scrum Master
- Identify main areas of improvement to optimize the work of the Scrum Master by considering the Scrum Guide, Scrum best practices and the coach's personal experiences
- Define possible approaches of how to improve the experience of the Scrum Master in the defined areas
- Provide full transparency on the results to BI in a document
Identify and share sources and communities outside BI where the Scrum Master can continue grow in the role
- Agile coach for project "Smart Search Engine" (April to June 2022)
- Analyze the project and its specifics and identify the most suitable agile project methodology based on the experiences to the project manager
- Identify the most suitable agile methodology to identify the problem space of the project and to derive the requirements based on the experiences
- Prepare and conduct up to four workshops to identify the problem space and the requirements (Content of the workshop will be approved by BI)
- Summarize and document the workshop results for handover to BI
