Global External Engagements. 
1)   BI is active in various disease areas and common for all is that we truly believe that the patient is our focus. Thus, a close cooperation with the medical communities is key to make sure we keep our focus right. This means working with various medical associations as well as world leading experts within a variety of specialties.


2)   BI will need to increase activity in social media and need to understand who is active in this field. Therefore, we need to identify and map external experts within the field of cardio-renal-metabolism (CRM) who are active in social media.


3)   a) Being one of the leaders in the non-insuline diabetes world, it is of high importance to nurse and enlarge our network and collaboration within the diabetes community. The annual EASD congress is one of the largest Diabetes meetings in the world and as one the leaders in the non-insuline diabetes world, it is thus important for the Alliance to be present with a professional participation. 

b) Furthermore, regular interactions with global External Experts (EE) via consultancy meetings are also important in order to gain strategic and practical insights from the diabetes community.

 
4)   The ACROSS programme has been established as a collaboration between leading international experts to share their knowledge and best clinical practice with colleagues who manage patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), Heart Failure (HF) and Chronical Kidney Disease (CKD).


5)   The Scientific Relations Management Team (SRM) is leading the External Expert (EE) Engagement strategy, EE identification, builds up and maintain network with world leading EEs and medical associations


The consultant will independently provide the following tasks:
1)     Expand Expert Engagement (EE) tool, Superfly, according to needs defined by Scientific Relations Management (SRM) team. 

  • Evaluate metrics in order to identify gaps and recommend changes with regards to suitability of new kind of experts.
  • Consult on how to improve metrics of EE engagements based on the specific know-how of the freelancer.
  • Create metrics 2 x per year for statistics on EE engagement and provide these to BI for review.

2)     Based on the digital expertise, the consultant shall develop a social media plan in power-point on whom of the Digital EEs use twitter, facebook and linkedIn in order to recommend how BI can best cooperate with the Digital EEs (the draft deck will be reviewed by BI.) The freelancer will use a tool like Hubspot to follow active health care providers (HCPs).

3) 
a) Prepare, coordinate and conduct the Alliance activities during EASD (Annual meeting of European Diabetes Association). 

  • Set up and conduct alignment and speaker briefing calls with faculty for industry symposium and Fishbowl. Contact details for faculty will be provided by BI. 
  • Prepare communication documents around the Alliance activities at the EASD to OPUs (operation units/affiliates) to raise awareness internally at this congress. Content will be defined within and provided by the EASD medical/marketing project team. All output will be handed over and approved by BI.


b) Prepare, coordinate and conduct three T2D (Type 2 Diabetes) consultancy meetings. 

  • Based on the contractor?s expertise, she will prepare and handle briefing calls with the external attendees (appointed by BI), alignment of content with agency and develop introductory slides which are to be reviewed and approved by BI. The content is based on project status and will be handled on ad-hoc basis.
     

Consult on the Across programme activities. Based on the knowhow of the contractor:
 

Advice on the Across T2D 

  • Lead 2 Live Global webinars, Tasks include: 
  • Develop the Webinar objectives and agenda based on input from BI 
  • Based on the contractors experience within the T2D community, recommend the faulty from the Steering Committee, send Invitations, Brief the faculty on slide development
  • Independently develop the save the date, formal, invitation and reminder emails and manage/brief the AV agency 
  • Review the content and format, data check the slides and recommend changes, amendments to BI
  • Lead on T2D Steering Committee Forum meeting
  • Develop the objectives and agenda for the Steering Committee meeting, along with the internal team
  • Send invitations to the faculty and manage the calendar invitations.
  • Be a consultant for the agency on the development of slides and finally align with BI
  • Attend the Forum meeting and manage discussions/ timings
  • EMJ (European Medical Journal) email to raise awareness around the ACROSS T2D platform
  • Contractor to independently prepare email to be sent out by EMJ and hand over to BI for approval.

 

Advice on the Across HF

  • Be a consultant for BI on communication plans for ACROSS HF, following insights gathering from the forum meeting in July. Recommendations in written to BI 
  • ACROSS HF symposium 
  • Develop the Webinar objectives and agenda 
  • Recommend the faulty from the Steering Committee, send Invitations, Brief the faculty on slide development
  • Develop the save the date, formal, invitation and reminder emails that will be sent from the congress
  • Brief the medical communication agency on slides development and review content
  • ACROSS HF Webinar
  • Develop the Webinar objectives and agenda based on input from BI 
  • Based on the contractors experience within the T2D community, recommend the faulty from the Steering Committee, send Invitations, Brief the faculty on slide development
  • Independently develop the save the date, formal, invitation and reminder emails and manage/brief the AV agency
  • Review the content and format, data check the slides and recommend changes, amendments to BI
  • Advice on the Across CKD (chronical kidney disease) programme

  • Lead on CKD Steering Committee Forum meeting
  • Develop the objectives and agenda for the Steering Committee meeting, along with the internal team
  • Send invitations to the faculty and manage the calendar invitations.
  • Be a consultant for the agency on the development of slides and finally align with BI
  • Attend the Forum meeting and manage discussions/ timings
     

5) Consult on Executing on Strategic planning for EE engagement. Pulling together metrics for 2021 EE engagements across the whole TA CMR (Therapeutic Area Cardio Metabolism and Respiratory) which will be delivered to BI in a ppt. The data will be provided to the contractor.
