Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a contractor who will serve as the contact person to channel and interpret what is provided from an external agency which is delivering primary competitive intelligence (CI) to the Boehringer Ingelheim internal teams and senior managers using this data.

Detailed task description:

The contractor receives all necessary accesses, documents and information from Boehringer. The service provision is based on the own contractor’s expertise and experience.


The scope of services includes the following tasks, which are independently performed by the external contractor:

1.   Reading background materials, especially foundational indication strategies and competitive intelligence documents to understand the Therapeutic Area (Retinopathies) for which competitive intelligence is to be provided.

2.   Participating in the handover sessions (CI) workshops and calls with the external agency organised by the current Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager (Retinopathies).

3.   Reviewing and assessing competitive intelligence information arising from the external agency for the following indications ? diabetic retinopathy (DR), geographic atropy (GA) and neovascularisation age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).

4.   Discussing new information arising on key competitors for the following indications ? diabetic retinopathy (DR), geographic atropy (GA) and neovascularisation age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) with the senior program manager. Updating key competition in a presentation slide deck.

5.   Communicating timeline changes on key competition for the following indications ? diabetic retinopathy (DR), geographic atropy (GA) and neovascularisation age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) to the Project Management Officer who will update FOCUS.

6.   Gathering input form the external CI agency remotely in order to deliver on pre/post conference materials for the following conferences ? ARVO, ASRS & EURETINA. The Contractor will be presented as an External and introduced as such.

7.   Completing and releasing Retinal Health CI quarterly update for July 2024. The report will be saved as a pdf in the Retinopathy CI sharepoint.

8.   Reviewing & consulting Boehringer teams and the external agencies to finalise indication landscape reports for geographic atropy (GA) and neovascularisation age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).

9.   Complete one slide on the key CI updates for the following Human Pharma Steering Committee (HPSC) for April, June, August & October 2024

10.   Participate in asset team discussions on strategic implications for the assets that are being developed in the following indications ? diabetic retinopathy (DR), geographic atropy (GA) and neovascularisation age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) in order to provide own expert advice.

11.   Share Competitive Intelligence updates arising from the agency for the following indications ? diabetic retinopathy (DR), geographic atropy (GA) and neovascularisation age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) to management and asset teams.

12.   Answering competitive intelligence questions arising from the senior program manager and senior management via MS Office.

13.   contact person to the external competitive intelligence (CI) agency

All created documents, reviews and materials are subject to Boehringer’s approval and will be handed over to Boehringer for further use.

All necessary equipment provided to the contracted party such as computer, access card to the Boehringer’s campus will be returned to Boehringer on the completion of the contractual term.
